I love eating barbecued meats. To get a wonderful barbecue flavor, cooking with great barbecue sauce is a must! I recently tried two different brands of barbecue sauces. Publix Original Barbecue Sauce and Kraft Slow Simmered Hickory Smoke Barbecue Sauce caught my eye at my local grocery store. I decided to compare these two sauces and see how they measured up. Here is what I discovered!Publix Original Barbecue Sauce beats Kraft Slow Simmered Hickory Smoke Barbecue Sauce in cost. Publix Original Barbecue Sauce is under two dollars. Kraft Slow Simmered Hickory Smoke Barbecue Sauce is above two dollars. I noticed that Publix Original Barbecue Sauce states on the outside of their bottle that this barbecue sauce is a rich tomato base with just the right tangy taste of delicious spices. I found this description to be very accurate. I liked the taste and flavor of this barbecue sauce and it did not have a strong barbecue taste. This sauce seemed to focus on the spices mixing evenly with the tomato base and it was very tasty! I would consider this a mild barbecue sauce, very flavorful but, not too much barbecue taste. By that, I mean, it was a smoothly blended sauce with excellent spices. I liked the taste and the meat that I cooked with this sauce was great! It works best on sandwiches, pork chops and any kind of ribs. This sauce also adds great flavor to brunswick stew!
Publix Original Barbecue Sauce has forty-five calories in each serving which is two teaspoons. Total fat grams are zero! There are three hundred and seventy mgs of sodium in each serving. Total carbs are ten grams, this sauce has nine grams of sugars and zero grams of protein. This barbecue sauce has a great blend of tomato juice, vinegar, molasses, mustard flour, spices, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, natural hickory smoke flavor and other ingredients. I rate this barbecue sauce four stars out of five stars. I think this sauce gave me great taste and value for my money. I found this to be a high quality product, recommend it and will be buying it again. This item can be found in Publix Super Markets.
