DETROIT PISTONS(39-15): The Detroit Pistons returned to their defensive roots this year. They are only allowing 90 points a game. Chauncey Billups and Richard Hamilton are both stud defenders and other teams are only shooting 34% from the three point line. Jason Maxiell and rookie Rodney Stuckey have impressed off the bench. Walter Hermann and Ronald "Flip" Murray deserve more time off the bench too. If they meet the Boston Celtics in the playoffs it should be an interesting series. Acquiring Juan Dixon from Toronto was a curious move as the Pistons already have many guards under contract.

CLEVELAND CAVALIERS(30-24): Swept last year by the San Antonio Spurs the Cleveland Cavaliers failed to upgrade their roster until the trade deadline. The Cavaliers obtained Ben Wallace, Wally Szczerbiak, Joe Smith, and Delonte West. Ben Wallace doesn't have much game left but he will add toughness. Szczerbiak will probably become the starting shooting guard and is an all star player when he gets minutes. The addition of Delonte West was key. Cleveland finally has a good point guard. Daniel Gibson is a feared three point shooter but he is not a point guard. Still, this team will only go as far as LeBron James takes it. Only in his fifth season LeBron James is already a Hall of Famer. The Cavaliers are good enough to compete in the east but that won't get it done against the scary Western Conference.

Takeaways
  • The Indiana Pacers are confused.
  • Ben Wallace doesn't have much game left.
  • The Cleveland Cavs finally made a trade.

I feel bad for the Pacers :( They DO need better defensive players.
