The Cruel Curse of Football Sundays and the Redemption of Flavor Flav

I had given up on the second season of Flavor Flav's hit reality show, Flavor of Love 2, for a few reasons. First off, the uncontrollable trashiness had somehow gotten the best of me. I never thought this was possible, but after Somethin' shit all over the floor during episode one, "something" else took a shit all over my insides. That something was my self-respect. As I watched the season unfold, I started to think, "what does this say about me; what does enjoying this show say about me as a person?" I was at a crossroads with the Flavor of Love franchise, that's for sure, and coupled with the start of the NFL, I decided to stop watching the show.

Until last night…

At 12:45 in the morning I was still seriously depressed; just channel surfing, looking for any show that wasn't football related. I clicked on VH1, Flavor of Love 2 was on and I tuned in just in time for the clock ceremony. The clock ceremony featured a new woman who was standing between Rick and Flav; she looked familiar. And then she spoke. How could anyone forget that voice? It was Ms. New York from season one. She was back and acting as some kind of consultant. It was very strange, even for Flavor of Love.

Two girls got voted off:

Beatuful: No big shock here. She was so non-descript that I almost didn't recognize her as a cast member. It was like she had been planted there just for Flavor Flav to make a "who are you" joke when he kicked her off.

Nibblz: It was sad to see Nibblz go, but after hearing Flav's reasoning it was well worth it. Flavor kicked off Nibblz because she had been a stripper and that he couldn't have that kind of element around his kids. What? This did spawn perhaps the best quote of the night though. When Nibblz spoke after being ousted, she wasn't crying or anything, she just said deadpan to the camera, ""I didn't sign up for this show to be a role model. I signed up to be a lover. And Flav missed out on a good fuck." Awesome.
