Rocky's Italian Grill stands out among the many Italian restaurants in Louisville, Kentucky. Rocky's is located on Westport Road, near the Springhurst shopping center. From the outside, the place looks kind of like an Italian villa. The wonderful garlicky aroma of Italian food cooking can easily be smelled from the parking lot.

A meal at Rocky's Italian Grill begins with their delicious bread, accompanied by a dish of olive oil with spices and cheese for dipping. The bread is served in a white paper bag, which I guess is to preserve freshness. It is baked in a round loaf and comes unsliced, so diners have the option of simply pulling the bread apart or slicing it themselves. We ordered the Zucchini ala Parmesan ($5.79) as an appetizer, and it turned out to be absolutely delicious thinly sliced strips of zucchini, lightly breaded and coated with parmesan cheese. A side of marinara sauce was included for dipping.

For my main course, I ordered the Pasta Carbonara ($11.99), and my friend Stephanie ordered the Linguini Rosa ($12.49). Both entrees came from the Rocky's Specialties section of the menu. Also on the menu were Italian standards such as spaghetti with various different sauces, lasagna, manicotti, fettuccini alfredo, and the like. Chicken Scampi (from Rocky's Specialties) sounded intriguing, and I will have to try it on my next visit. The menu also includes a variety of soups, salads, seafood dishes, and grilled items. Entrée prices ranged from $8.99 to $14.99, with most falling in the ten to thirteen dollar range. Both my and Stephanie's entrees came with a choice of soup or salad. We each chose a salad, and both were crisp, fresh, and green.
