Store-bought name-brand baby clothes can be quite costly, and with the increasing prices of everything these days, it isn't always feasible to buy expensive baby clothes from department stores and specialty clothing stores. However, it is still possible to buy high-quality name-brand baby clothes and save a considerable amount of money. It's not where the baby clothes come from that really matters, but amount of money you save. There are a number of ways to save money on baby clothes, and these ways to save money on baby clothes will enable you to obtain the adorable outfits you want at a price that anyone can easily afford.

Everything Doesn't Have to be New

If you're a first-time parent, the first step in finding ways to save money on baby clothes is getting past the notion that your baby can't wear anything used. When I had my first baby I wanted the best for him, and in my mind that meant new clothing, but the best I could afford and the best quality clothing available were two entirely different things. It didn't take long to discover that if I wanted name-brand top-quality baby clothes, I had to change my attitude and look for gently used items that were acceptable and affordable. I soon learned that I could save the most amount of money on clothing by looking for secondhand items.

Go Sailing

I've never sailed before in my life, at least not out on the water. The type of sailing I'm referring to is garage sailing for baby clothes. When my kids were babies I loved finding like-new name-brand clothes at garage sales, and I was able to save a lot of money on baby clothes that I otherwise couldn't afford. I hit the jackpot at some garage sales, and found absolutely nothing at others, but the amount of money I was able to save overall was tremendous.

How true, and if you wash something one time, it no longer looks new! I loved garage saleing and second hand shops and still do.

Great tips! These are things I did, too. They really do work. I also utilized Ross. Oftentimes, you can find new brand-name clothing for $3 - $10 per piece. I used to go to the clearance section, as well as the regular section. I had a $10 rule. If it was over $10, I wouldn't buy it. I did the same with Wal-Mart. WSome of ther clothing is actually pretty cute and long-lasting. You just have to know what to buy and what not to buy. They also often have $2 - $5 sales on baby and toffler clothing that is out of season, but if you buy in bigger sizes, they can wear it later. Or, if you live in Houston like me, the shorts/t-shirts they sell for $2 each at the end of Summer will still be useful some days, even in Winter. LOL :-)
