I have to admit, when I first heard Coldplay, I was not a fan. But their distinct sound eventually grew on me. Now that there are a number of Coldplay songs in my music library, I can give y
ou a list of my top 10 of songs by Coldplay.
"Clocks"-This song makes me want to run around in an open field with my hands held out to the sides like I can fly. It just evokes that kind of "I can do anything" attitude in me, and I love pieces like that.
"The Scientist"-I would listen to this after a rough break up when I felt like crying. Everyone needs songs and movies to cry to.
"Trouble"-I love this piece's simple yet seductive sound that is almost relaxing. I also love how I can hear each instrument's part without straining my ears.
"One I Love"-I really enjoy this song because it has a kind of classic rock sound to it mixed in with a sound that you come to expect from Coldplay.
"Yellow"-Who doesn't want to hear that the stars shine for them? I can't hear it enough, which is why, in a nutshell, I love this one. Also, my favorite color since preschool has been yellow, so the title of this piece automatically places it in my top 10 songs by Coldplay.
"Don't Panic"-I love this piece not because of the words, or even how the words are sung, but because of the instrumentals of this piece.
"Fix You"-I love this song mostly because of the words, though, the instrumental part of the number is lovely too.
"Twisted Logic"-I love how this piece is darker than what I would normally expect from Coldplay, and I am a huge fan of bands that break their own mold every now and then, securing this one a place on my list of top 10 songs by Coldplay.
"Shiver"-I just like it, OK? I can't put my finger on what it is, but I think it has to do with the fact that it reminds me of some music I would listen to in middle school and high school.
"Parachute"-I really like the guitar in this number, it reminds me of sitting in my basement with my brother while he strums away on the guitar for hours. Any piece that evokes memories of my family is definitely going to end up on my list of top 10 songs, so this song instantly gained a place on my list of top 10 songs by Coldplay.
