Section 1: Jacques Saunière, the Louvre's curator, is running towards the nearest painting he could find, a Caravaggio, and tore it off the wall. Immediately, an alarm sounded and iron bars closed off the area he was in, the Grand Gallery. "Don't move" said a ghostly voice from behind the gates. Jacques spun around and saw an albino man pointing a gun at him. "Now tell me where it's hidden."

"I have no idea what you are talking about!" He cried. The albino fired his gun and hit Saunière in the stomach, right below the heart. The ghostly man now aimed his gun at Jacque's head and pulled the trigger. His gun made a small click. The clip was empty.

"Maybe it's better that way." The man sneered as he walked away. Jacques now had limited time to pass on the secret before he died. He will have to work fast...

About an hour later Robert Langdon woke up to a call at 12:30 in the morning. It was the concierge.

"Mr. Langdon you have a visitor." The man said. Robert was explained that the French Judicial Police Chief needed him at the Louvre for a murder investigation. Robert agreed and was driven to The Louvre where he was told that the Louvre's curator had been killed. There he was introduced to Bezu Fache, the police chief, and he showed him a message that Saunière had left in a pen that was only visible under a black light. The message showed a riddle that said-13-3-2-21-1-1-8-5 O, Draconian devil! Oh, lame saint! Then one of Bezu's unliked clients came in and said she had a message from the U.S. Embassy for Robert. He took her phone and called them. Instead of a secretary's voice he got the agent's voice (Sophie).
