Rush Limbaugh thought "The Path to 9/11" was the greatest thing since his last EIB broadcast, insinuating before its Sunday/Monday airing that Clinton officials are finally getting the blame they rightly deserve for ignoring the terrorism threat. Thomas Kean, co-chairman of the 9/11 commission who worked with ABC as a consultant gave the "movie" at least a little bit of factual credit. But Richard Clarke - a Clinton counterterrorism expert who came across as Superman without the cape in the docudrama with more disclaimers than a door in Amsterdam's red light district - completely annihilated the production in the New York Times and on www.abcnews.com.

It doesn't matter what how many liberal pundits, former and current Democratic politicians bash "The Path." It equally doesn't matter how many Rush Limbaugh, Bush-catering, conservatives loved it. We should be listening to Dick Clarke.

Madeline Albright, former Clinton Secretary of State, came across looking about as bad as some of the terrorists depicted in the movie. "The Path" portrayed Samuel Berger, Clinton's assistant on national security, and George Tenet, former head of the CIA as two scared little girls in an elementary school lunchroom, sitting alone in the corner. But Clarke must have had a friend.

Along with CIA operatives and John O'Neil, the true hero of the movie, he was right about everything. The counterterrorism expert in the Clinton administration actually came across as probably the only "expert" amongst other officials who apparently twiddled their thumbs and shrugged their shoulders at Usama bin Laden. (Why, by the way, did we change the spelling of this guy's name? Pre- and just-post 9/11 and throughout this movie, it's spelled with a "U." Now an "O?" I'm as confused as the rest of them.)

The film stank of propoganda. That's all I need to know.

ABC should be embarrassed to have run this without vetting. It was so inaccurate they are now facing legal action from American Airlines, who they defamed because they couldn't even get the research right that it was United that let Mohammad Atta onboard.
