Local Restaurant Review: Maritime Seafood And Grill in Carmichael, Sacramento, CA

Seafood is an acquired taste for many people. It is usually very fresh and some of the finest cuisine you can find incorporates seafood as main course ingredients. Maritime Seafood & Grill is a relatively new restaurant is Carmichael, Sacramento, CA. The restaurant is tucked away in an elegant oasis on Fair Oaks Blvd, complete with gold-beige walls and elegant wood flooring. The atmosphere is very quiet and subdued, and the walls are cleanly painted, complete with minimal wall art, the restaurant obviously wants to showcase their cuisine. The meals are very captivating, with creative dishes like a doll-size glass mug filled with lobster bisque inside.

The staff is very friendly and courteous, they constantly checked up on my table to make sure I was pleasant and they kept my beverage filled. The first item I ordered was a fried soft-shell crab appetizer; this was simply delicious served with a touch of whole-grain mustard. The dish was served on a beautiful round platter, it looked leggy and very appetizing, the crab itself tasted excellent and fresh. The mustard really added to the excellent taste, and I believe this would be great with their other dishes like the grilled salmon fillet. Speaking of the grilled salmon fillet, this was a delicious item, covered with delicious caviar and puréed carrots.

Meat eaters also have a place in this restaurant; I ordered the lamb shank which was simply delicious. The lamb was cut into little chunks, complete with tomato sauce to dip the pieces in. This dish was truly delicious, it was really tender and I was able to use a butter knife to cut the pieces. The portions are not too small, but they also aren't real big, so I definitely had room for dessert. I ordered the Meyer lemon meringue tart, which was a beautiful bright-yellow color.
