My son has always been an avid reader, well at only 20 months he doesn't actually read his books but he loves looking at them and turning the pages as well as being read too. For this reason he often receives books as gifts. He is also a fan of puzzles and that is why at last year's Christmas he received the perfect book, 10 Color Book.

The 10 Color Book is a large board book with plastic pieces attached by ribbons that fit into sections of the book. The book has rhyming sentences that pertain to a picture on the opposite page. With in the pictures there are one or two shapes the size of the plastic pieces, so the book doubles as a 10 piece puzzle.

The book revolves around colors so as well as puzzle solving skills your child can work on learning colors. The shapes that the puzzle has are a white cloud, yellow duck, pink square, red diamond, blue fish, orange circle, black hat, purple bunny and brown bone. On the page with the words there is a picture of the shape or shapes that goes on the opposite page and a solid background of a contrasting color. The illustration is very neat, the art is by the acclaimed folk artist William Accorsi who is also the author of the 10 Button Book.

My son loves the 10 Color Book. He plays with it all the time. The cover of the book has slots for each of the pieces to fit into and the page directly behind it has a picture of each of the pieces. My son is only 20 months and so he brings that book to me for help. The recommended age for the book is for ages 3 and up. I love playing with my son and love reading this book to him and helping him put the pieces where they go.
