Duct tape is one of the coolest inventions ever. It seems that this product can fix almost any problem, if you use it correctly. However, when you have issues with your vehicle, did you know that you can repair your car using this household product? Using duct tape you are able to fix minor problems with your car, which can save you thousands of dollars, or give you enough time to save up the money to have your car professionally repaired. Fixing your vehicle using duct tape is very easy, and below are several steps to fix the most common car problems. Car Hose:
If your car hose is leaking, you may find that replacing it can be extremely expensive and time-consuming. But with duct tape you can easily fix this problem, and it will cost you around $3 - before tax.
The first step is to make sure that your car hose is completely cleaned from any type of debris or dust, also make sure the hose is dry or the duct tape will not stick. Take the roll of duct tape and cut off small strips, and place your initial layer of tape over the hole. You will then take two more strips and place one strip over the top half of the bottom layer of tape and then take the other strip to further secure the bottom half of the lower level. This will work until you can have the hose professionally repaired or replaced.
Vinyl Seats:
Take a moment and look at your vinyl car seats. Locate the major cracks and tears within the seats and cut strips of duct tape that will adequately patch these holes. After you have applied the initial layer of duct tape, you will want to cut two more strips of tape to the same length and then take one of these strips and have it cover only half of the width of the bottom layer. This means that the half of the second strip will be on the actual seat and other half will be on the bottom layer of tape. Take the third strip and repeat this step on the other side. This will secure the duct tape and keep it from falling off.
