It's no great secret that men can be confusing and unpredictable creatures. Women have been trying to figure them out for centuries and after having little real success have only instinct to go on. When it comes to men and relationships, it's common to hear women pondering what went wrong when everything suddenly falls to pieces. Well there are a few things that will send a man running faster than you'll ever see him run again. The following checklist looks at the main ways women scare men off.

1. Clinging to him like a dryer sheet that just won't let go is often the number one reason a man feels the need to make a sudden ditch out of new relationship. A new girlfriend that drops her entire life to devote every waking minute to calling and showing up unannounced is not going to entice any man to hang around. A new relationship is fun and exciting but getting carried away can work against you quickly.

2. Controlling, diva-like behaviour is not going to go over well. Many women tend to fall into that mind frame of "my man" which can effectually leave you with no man. Treating your man like a possession is often a result of insecurity. Don't allow personal issues to wash over into how you treat your partner. A car is a possession, a human being never is.

3. Stalking is illegal and creepy. If your partner sees you each time he turns around there's a good chance you may be around too often. And if he doesn't see you then perhaps that's just as bad. The bottom line is that digging for information or checking up on his whereabouts is going to send him running for the hills wailing like a mad man. Remember that everyone needs time to do their own thing and don't let assumptions and suspicions govern your actions.

4. Don't be too quick to give it up. Jumping into bed with a new man too soon can in fact work against you. A guy who's looking to settle down most likely isn't going to do it with the girl that put out on the first night. Have standards and stick to them. There is nothing sexier than a woman who knows what she wants and doesn't resort to loose behaviour to attain it.
