A Love Story(Fiction)
For years I tried all types of singles lines, on the phone and the Internet; even a few blind dates. There were a few times that I felt a connection, but the other person didn't feel the same way or vice versa. During this time I relied on my friends quite a bit, but they weren't always around because every single one of them were in happy, healthy, relationships.
One day while I was doing some spring cleaning I ran across a box that had a bunch of junk in it. At first it was going to go straight into the trash, but a little voice advised me to go through the box. While going through the box I ran across an old address book that I had during my college years. Flipping through the pages really took me back to some good times and some bad, complete happiness and excruciating heartbreaks. Then I made it to the letter S section and ran across my best friend Robin Stephens number and address. We were the best of friends, totally attached at the hip. There is no way you would see one of us without the other. Hmmm I wonder if this is still a good number?
Immediately I went to the living room and dialed the number, and Robin's mother answered the phone. My memories of her were fond ones; always speaking to me as a mother and treated me like one of her own. We sat there and talked on the phone for an hour or so, then I heard a familiar voice; it was Robin!
Robin picked up the phone and sounded so excited to hear from me, and suggested that we go out for dinner to play catch up. Saturday finally came and we met at a wonderful little Mexican restaurant. My best friend hadn't changed one bit, still telling those crazy jokes and had that same infectious laugh. We both had a very good time at dinner and Robin promised to call the next day - and did.
