LAREDO, Texas, February 21 - The people of my hometown, Laredo, Texas have not had a presidential nominee step foot in the city since approximately 20 years back. I thought that this was probably based on the fact that Laredo-ans don't seem to pay much attention to politics at all during any time, but on February the 21st I realized that there must be a different answer to why presidential nominees don't show up here, because the people of Laredo were excited beyond belief to have Hillary Clinton in town. All kinds of people from Laredo and even from across the border were standing in the streets waiting and talking about what they thought the senator would say.

Hillary presented herself at the Old City Hall of Laredo where she was received cheerfully by more than 1000 people no doubt. I didn't know if I was going to be attending this event, as I have seen Hillary already at other primaries, but I decided to go along with my mother, my aunt, my grandmother, and my younger sister because it would be their first time ever coming close to a presidential candidate. My aunt got to ask a question to the senator about her opinion on border security. The question was, "Are you for the border fence or against it?" Although Hillary's answer to that topic is that she is for the border fence, she went on to explain that in the long run it's actually a better way to secure the country, and she also explained that a lot of that border wall would be virtually built instead of hand made. My aunt was very please with her answer.
