Dumb and Stupid Laws that Are Still on the Books in Michigan

Some of the laws that are being passed right now can seem down right stupid to some. One law is probably not going to make sense to all of America. Laws and customs have greatly changed through the years and many states still have laws "on the books" that are still legally active though not necessarily enforced. Michigan is no exception and they do have some pretty dumb laws that are still around. Some of the laws listed below are for the state while others are for towns or counties within Michigan. If you live in Michigan, do not say that you have never broken the law before until you have read these stupid laws. If I lived in Michigan, I would be a habitual law breaker. How about you?

- A Michigan woman is not allowed to cut her own hair without first getting permission from her husband.

- It is illegal to kill a dog using a decompression chamber.

- Any person that is over the age of 12 may own a handgun as long as they have not been convicted of a felony.

-It is legal for a robber to file a lawsuit against the homeowner if they are injured while inside it.

-It is against the law to paint sparrows and sell them as parakeets.

-It is against the law to serenade your girlfriend.

-All bathing suits must have been pre-inspected by the head of police.

-It is against the law for a man to scowl at his wife on Sunday.

-Security guards at Joe Louis Arena will confiscate any item they feel might be thrown onto the ice. Also, any person seen throwing an octopus onto the ice at a Red Wings game will be taken to jail. (Apparently, this was popular at one time.)

- Willfully destroying your own radio is against the law.

- Couples are not allowed to make love in a vehicle unless that vehicle is parked on their property.

It kind of makes a person think about what was going on in the heads of those back in the day. Some of the laws make a little sense but are kind of written in a dumb way. Hopefully, these states can start to take these dumb laws off the books so we can start focusing on those that make sense. Michigan is just one of the states that have dumb and stupid laws.
