Home Decor Craft Ideas: Vintage Rose Nesting Tables

If you have an old set of wood nesting tables, you know it is often hard to find a way to place them in your décor. Fortunately, with a little bit of work you can turn that old into something new! These vintage rose nesting tables are inspired by a set found recently at a home décor boutique.

For this project, you will need:

- A set of three wood nesting tables (small, medium, and large)

- Medium grit sandpaper

- Tack cloth or other soft cloth

- Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White

- Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Celery

- Polyurethane sealer

- Self healing mat

- Craft knife

- Pencil

- Ruler

- Sponge brush

- Mod Podge or other decoupage medium

- Craft roller

- K & Co "Brookfield Vintage Roses" Print Scrapbook Paper (found in stores or online at Paper Addict)

- Newspaper or drop cloth

The first and most important step in any project involving spray paints and glues is to make sure your work area is well ventilated and covered with a newspaper or a drop cloth. (Outdoor areas usually are the best for this.) Also, make sure your three nesting tables are free of any paint and stain prior to beginning. If not, use a bit of paint stripper.

Carefully sand each table with medium grit sandpaper. Spray each table with several coats of Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White, making sure the primer is evenly coating the surface areas of the table. Allow the primer to dry for two to three hours.

Coat each of the tables with four to five coats of Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Celery. Keep adding coats of paint until you reach your desired green shade. Let the tables dry overnight before proceeding.

Lay the K & Co "Brookfield Vintage Roses" Print Scrapbook Paper flat on the self healing mat. Use the ruler to measure the size of each of the nesting table tops. Mark these measurements onto different sheets of print paper. Cut out these sizes from the paper using a craft knife.
