I can't think of anyone who enjoys being sick. I especially hate having a cold. Even the thought of not being able to breathe and having a runny nose and a sore throat are enough to keep me popping the vitamin C pills every day. Unfortunately, when it comes to getting a cold, I catch them really easy. A slight change in the weather, and I am down for the count. When I have a cold, the last thing I do before going to bed, after taking a dose of cold medicine, is to take a long bath in the hottest water possible. This helps clear out my sinuses long enough that I can comfortably get to sleep.During my last bout with a cold a friend recommended this bath oil that would help even more. Since I was not willing to wait for it to arrive in the mail she allowed me to borrow a small portion of hers. I think perhaps this product is the best thing ever for relieving congestion. The product is called Kneipp Eucalyptus Herbal Bath Oil. It comes in a 3.4 oz clear bottle with a green lid. The liquid is a dark green similar to the color or original NyQuil cold medicine. The fragrance is a very strong mentholated scent that is sure to clear your sinuses.
This product is not a bubble bath, but rather an oil so don't expect a bathtub full of bubbles. All you need is a bathtub full of water and a cap full of the product and you will be amazed at how well you feel afterword. The label recommends that you soak in the water for at least 15 minutes to allow it to clear your sinuses. Kneipp Eucalyptus Herbal Bath Oil is an all natural product free of all preservatives and additives that you find in many bath products.
Since being turned on to this product by a friend I have bought my own bottle of this and keep it ready for when I feel a cold coming on. This bath oil can be purchased through the company's website at www.kneippus.com or at retail locations nationwide. For a store near you check out the store locator. It retails for 19.00 for a 3.4oz bottle and while this may seem like a lot of money to spend on something you will use occasionally in your bath I find it to be well worth the money.
Kneipp also offers their Herbal Bath Oil in many other fragrances including Almond Blossom, lavender, and spruce.
