Working at School
Making Extra Cash to Spend at College

Jobsare not easy to find as timein the semester moves on, so it's always advantageous to start looking fora job as soon as your parents drop you off at yourdorm. Of course, you need to start looking, but now the question is where to look. On-campus jobsare bountiful, but taken early by students with financial aid. If those are the jobs you desire thenthe best course of action is to go toyour school's financial aid office and get a list of jobs to choose from.
For those of you who don't have financial aid, your hunt for a job gets a little bit trickier. Most on-campus jobs are(FWS) federal work study jobs andyou cannot apply if thatis something you are not qualified for. So now the huntcontinues into the small or large town that surrounds your college/university.
Whilestudents with federal or state aid do get jobs sooner, those jobs usually yield less money. University towns and cities are one with the schools they represent, and usuallylike to hire students who attend their local school. They also paywellbecause they are jobs listed by actual companies with income, not state-funded aid programs. Finding jobs in town usually isn't too difficult, but it all depends on whata studentwould prefer to do to make ends meet.
Finally, It is not that tough to find work on-campus or off as long as the student is on theball. Looking for these jobs early will be very beneficial and may prove to give you something to fall back on for the entire time you attend an institution of higher learning.
