Well, I'm sitting here in my "office" which is a computer on a small desk that takes up one-fifth of our small guest bedroom. I am looking for writing inspiration. I think I would like to write something profound today. It would be so nice to put to computer something that proves to the world, without a doubt, what a true literary genius I am. I look around the room, taking in my surroundings. I notice the snoring coming from the bed. Three dogs and one cat; sound asleep. I'm not sure which one is snoring, but I'm ruling out the cat. The only thing they inspire is a nap and a "Free To Good Home" ad.
I have the Fox News Business channel on the TV, the markets are down again and that's not the kind of inspiration I'm looking for. I don't want to write about the depressing effect of watching our portfolio dwindle, although it could be considered profound. The TV screen is dusty.
Let's see what we have here on the desk...1 cent stamps, out-of-date software programs, file folders, a statue of the American eagle and a pile of bills. That reminds me, I need to take out the trash. The computer screen is dusty too.
Maybe if I look out the window, I'll happen to see something inspiring. Looking, looking, llllloooooking. Uh huh, I'm looking at the fact that my car has a flat tire. "As the bright, clear day shined through the office window, the woman noticed a flat tire on her car." Oh, forget it. Maybe I'll get some inspiration from cleaning the house and fixing my flat tire.
Back again, here in the office. Yup right here, back in the office. Here I am dutifully devoting time to my craft, honing my skills. It seems as though getting those household chores out of the way didn't work; but at least it didn't wake the dogs and cat. I know; I'll surf for awhile.
Well, there sure was four hours that went by quick! Hum, sometimes I feel more inspired after I eat.
