On February 23, Linda a friend of mine, my daughter, and I attended a pep rally for Hillary Clinton. The rally was held at the Whitmer High School Field House, and was scheduled for 9:00 pm. The public was urged to come early, and told that the doors would open at 6:30 pm. . However, many of Hillary Clinton supporters, braving the cold, arrived as early as 3:00 pm hoping to be first in line.

When we entered the building, we were searched by security. All bags, wallets, purses, cameras and cell phones were opened and searched then scanned for hidden objects. Anyone who had containers of water or pop was told to throw it out. After being searched, we were allowed to enter the field house and instructed to sit in the bleachers.

We found seats near the top of the bleachers that gave a clear view of the platform that Hillary would speak from. While passing the time, I watched as the field house filled up with Hillary supporters. The Whitmer band entered and played several songs. Soon both sides of the field house were trying to out shout each other while waving Hillary for President signs. Shortly after 9:00, we were told that Hillary's plane had been delayed and she, accompanied by Ohio Governor Ted Strickland should be arriving shortly.

At 10:30, Hillary and Governor Strickland walked in and were met with over 3,000 cheering supporters. Governor Strickland spoke first, explaining his views on alternative energy sources and the high cost of utilities. He stated his support for Hillary and handed her the microphone as he stepped down from the stage.
