Living in Florida, ice cream is essential, especially when the temperatures start hitting the 90s. Where can you go to find the best-tasting, most affordable ice cream and other sweet treats? Hershey's Ice Cream in the Publix shopping center at the intersection of Chickasaw Trail and Lee Vista Boulevard.

The first time I visited Hershey's, it was nearly impossible to make up my mind about what flavor ice cream I wanted. Not only does Hershey's regularly have an abundance of flavor varieties (more than 50!), but they also offer shakes, Italian ice and frozen yogurt, too. They carry your old-fashioned favorites, including vanilla and chocolate (both award winners!), rum raisin, strawberry fields and mint chocolate chip. But don't overlook some of the more refined tastes, too!

Honeybun -- who'd have ever thought the taste of a warm, homemade cinnamon roll would make such a great ice cream flavor? It's absolutely amazing. Another personal favorite of mine is S'mores ice cream. It is the closest thing to actually making a s'more over a campfire, complete with marshmallow swirl and graham cracker bites. There's also a white chocolate raspberry flavor -- white chocolate flavored ice cream with raspberry swirls and chocolate cups filled with a raspberry cordial.

As if the best-tasting ice cream and plethora of flavors wasn't enough, you can get Hershey's Ice Cream in a variety of ways. You have the traditional ice cream cones (sugar or waffle) or a cup/bowl. But you absolutely MUST try one of Hershey's homemade (as in, made right in front of your eyes) waffle-cone bowls. It's actually cooked right there to order and shaped into a delicious bowl for one or two (or three!) scoops of your favorite ice cream flavors.

And of course, don't forget to add one of about ten different ice cream toppings, from hot fudge to bing cherry to strawberry or real whipped cream! All of these delicious treats are highly affordable (in the $5 range).
