You've just been given your diploma. You smile, shake hands with the conglomeration of teachers and educators, and then take a seat as the remainder of your classmates receive their recognition. Almost certainly, your mind will replay your high school life, particularly your senior year. What do you want to remember at this point? Thoughts of, "Man, I sure am glad I'm done with this awful life" shroud the minds of far too many graduating seniors. Is high school really so terrible that all should anticipate the day when high school is only a repressed memory?

Heck no! If a high schooler plays the cards right, high school can be among the best time of ones life, particularly for seniors! A student simply must know what to do in order to make the most of the senior year of high school. Really, an enjoyable high school experience doesn't have to be difficult at all. One simply needs to put focus on what they really want for themselves, not what Mom and Dad want. Here is a list of things I did (or wish I'd done!) to make my senior year such a great year.

1. Get involved!
-OK, extracurricular activities might seem more appropriate for a "prepare for college" lecture than for enjoying your senior year. Really, doing activities after school that you enjoy gives you a reason to look forward to your day. Whether you're involved in after school sports, drama, student government, or the many other clubs and organizations that exist, you'll have a reason to anticipate to your afternoon. Do something you enjoy, even if its attending the sporting or musical events your school hosts. Come on, what else will you do, go hang out at the arcade? That'll create some unique memories. (Insert sarcastic laugh.)
