Myrtle Beach is one of the most favorite family vacation destinations. It offers long lazy days on the beach, shopping, golf and a hot nightlife to make a great vacation for the adults, but what about the under eighteen crowd? Not to worry, there are some great places to make a Myrtle Beach vacation unforgettable for them as well.

At the Myrtle Beach Pavilion and Amusement Park, the young and the young at heart have been entertained for over fifty years. The Pavilion arcade, located only steps away from the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, is packed with video games, pinball machines and skeet ball. There is also a food court with favorites such as hard shell ice cream, cotton candy and foot long hot dogs. On the upper level of the Pavilion is The Attic, a nightclub for minors only, with no alcoholic beverages served or allowed. There is music and dancing from seven until midnight. The amusement park, over eleven acres of family fun, boasts of at least forty rides for all age levels. From the kiddie rides and go-carts to the Hurricane Category 5 roller coaster, children of all ages will find fun.

Another amusement park, located a few miles south of the Pavilion, is the Family Kingdom. It boasts of having one of the oldest and largest roller coasters in the south, along with rides for all ages.

Water parks have become an alternative to the beach for many families. At a water park, visitors may enjoy the sun and the water without the blowing sand and stickiness from the salt water. Safety is also a factor in choosing the water parks. The wide-open beach and swift, deep currents often prove challenging for some first time visitors. Myrtle Beach has a wide variety of water parks to choose from.

All kids love go-carts. Myrtle Beach has several go-cart parks, with one of the more popular being NASCAR Speed Park. This is a good place to meet your favorite NASCAR driver on special occasions.
