In the year of 1963 there were so many things happening. I remember this year so very well. I was a freshman in high school, oh those were the days my friend.

The Top 10 Hits:

1 "Be My Baby" by the Ronettes
2 "Louie Louie" by the Kingsmsn
3 "Da Doo Ron Ron" by the Crystals
4 "One Fine Day" by the Chiffons
5 "Fingertips Pt. 2." by Stevie Wonder
6 "In Dream" by Roy Orbison
7 "Up On The Roof" by the Drifters
8 "Wipe Out" by the Surfaris
9 "Walk Like A Man" by The Four Seasons
10 " Its My Party" by Lesley Gore

There were so many songs that came out that year like, "He's So Fine" by the Chiffons and "Dominique" by the Singing Nun and my very favorite to this day is "Blue Velvet" by Bobby Vinton. I had a very good friend in high school her name was Paula and the song was so much all about her, "Hey Paula" by Paul and Paula. Then there was "Go Away Little Girl" by Steve Lawrence. Another great song was "My Boyfriends Back" by the Angels. I use to sing that a lot, and "I will Follow Him" by Little Peggy March. A really great one was "Sugar Shack" by Jimmy Gilmer and the Fireballs. So many memories I had with all of these songs. My husband still hates to this day the Louie Louie one, in the same year the Beatles came out with "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and I did, that was a boyfriend and girlfriend song back then. All of these songs enlighten several evenings of dancing, dating, and parties or just hanging out. It embodied all that innocent about the young at heart love and beautiful and great times we all shared with our friends.

Takeaways
  • Rock and Roll was never as good as it was back then.
  • Poodle skirts, bobby socks and black and white saddle shoes, were out.
  • Alfred Hitchcock made a very famous movie called "The Birds
Did You Know?

I meant HEART. Not heat but you can get the heat also. But it's the HEART of Rock and Roll that's still beatin.

Thanks for the memories - I'm happily stuck in the 60's music genre. In fact, I'm listening to Monday, Monday right now.
