Hershey Kisses are loved by most individuals who have a heart beat. They taste fantastically sinful, and the way the chocolate melts in your mouth is truly heavenly. Hershey Kisses-brand chocolates celebrated their 100th anniversary on July 7, 2008. On Hershey.com, one can learn some very interesting and fun facts about the Hershey Kiss. I never knew that the reason they were called Kisses is rumored to be because they sounded like a kiss when being deposited from the manufacturing machine. I also thought it was cool to know that it takes 95 Hershey Kisses to make up a pound of chocolate. Also, I found out that one half of all Americans surveyed said that if they were stuck on a deserted island, they would rather have an unlimited supply of Hershey Kisses, special dark, than their favorite book. I have to agree with that one.
Since my children love Hershey Kisses so much, we bought them each the medium size Hershey Kiss for Valentine's day. After discovering so many fun things to do and ways to eat this tasty candy, we bought several more and had a little Hershey Kiss party. I just had to share with you the cool things you can make and do with one of America's favorite candies. Try them with your favorite little people.
Hershey Kiss Carving:
My boys thought this was the coolest idea thier mom has ever had. I gave them a medium sized Hershey kiss, a plastic kid's knife and let them carve away at the chocolate making whatever they wanted to make. My 2 year old loved shaving the chocolate just to eat it. My 5 year old son really took his time creating as he sculpted a head with a smiley face. My kids have not stopped talking about it.
Hershey Kiss Fondue:
We melted a Hershey Kiss in the microwave in a microwave safe bowl. I cut up fruits and put the fruit chunks on straws as skewers. They dipped the fruit skewers into the Hershey Kiss fondue. My boys loved it and asked to help cut the fruit and help me skewer them with the straws. All the steps are so kid friendly that I could let them do it themselves.
