Movie News and Views Feb. 28, 2008

Not a lot of other trailers out, so here are the Views:

- "Jeepers Creepers 3: The Creeper Walks Among Us" is currently in talks.

- Michael Bay has locked three writers into a hotel room and they are all working on "Transformers 2."

- Although I haven't seen the trailer (that I know of) there's a new film called "Outlander." Apparently, a humanoid warrior crashes on Earth during the time of the Vikings and has to lead them in a fight against an alien predator. Stars Jim Caviezel, John Hurt, Sophia Myles and Ron Perlman.

- The 4^th of the "Indiana Jones" will be delivered to theatres in 35mm as opposed to digital.

- Most horror writers wait until the end of their career to find Jesus, but not Anne Rice. Her fond farewell to the genre in order to discover Christ now has her returning to make at least one more book based on Lestat, her rock'n'roll vampire. I'm not sure where this fits in movie wise, but I really didn't want to start an article just on this alone...

- "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins" now has an official release date of May 22, 2009.

- "Starship Troopers 3:Marauder." Casper Van Dien is back. So, there ya go.

- Olivier Megaton will be directing "Transporter 3."

- Word on the street is that there's going to be a "Bourne 4."

- "Hoodwinked 2." I didn't even see the first one.

- Watch for "Lost Boys 2" (the Coreys will be back) to go straight-to-DVD.

- "Final Destination 4" has been announced. Cast members include: Shantal VanSanten, Hayley Webb, Bobby Campo, Nick Zano and Andy Fiscella.

- Ruairi Robinson is directing the new live-action "Akira" movie, due out Summer 2009.

- Universal Pictures and Hasbro toys have signed a 6-year deal to produce movies based on the games/toys "Monopoly," "Candy Land," "Battleship," and "Stretch Armstrong."

- Madonna's new movie, "Filth and Wisdom" (directed by her) will be available on iTunes. Yeah, thank whatever nameless deity you want for that one...
