"To come out of the broom closet": many of us have heard of something similar or related to that phrase. Many of us, either at one point in time have come out to our family and friends and told them about being Wiccan or have been still waiting for the time to do it. Telling one's family you are Wiccan is defiantly not like a coming out party some of us might remember at the age of 16. There are a lot of times, we as Wiccan's wonder if our friends or family will keep accepting us due to our religion with all the false images we deal with on a day to day basis.Every situation is different there are some that are welcomed with open arms after telling their family but some of us wonder if there will be a repercussions from telling them. There are many of us though those deal with wondering how accepting someone will be to our religion due to the portrayals that are made that we try to take back and show the reality of what is real and what isn't. What are some of the things to consider when telling your family about being Wiccan?
I believe first off you need to be sure to do a lot of soul searching on rather or not to tell your family. Some people try to be very honest with their family and might be very close to their family therefore you want to tell them and come out to your family, than there are some of us that might not be close to all our family but would like to at least tell someone in our family. That's the first step is deciding do you want to go through telling your family and telling about your life choice and being ready for the good and bad that might be handed out to you after telling them.
