There are many birthday party games I that we used to play in my youth, and one of them was Spin the Bottle.

I can look back and recall the first time I had played this game. I must have been around 9 or 10 years old. Those were the days of childhood innocence so unlike today. Boys and girls did not kiss, girls played hop scotch outdoors, and boys played stick ball in the streets.

One of the most daring birthday party games that we played, was Spin the Bottle. We all sat around in a circle on the floor, in a boy, girl, boy. girl type circle. We twittered and giggled, as the party host came out with an empty coke bottle. We all knew what was going to happen, and excited at the thought that we were going to be kissed.

Finally, after much movement, separating the boys and the girls, we got down to business. The bottle was placed in the center of the circle with enough space away from our legs so as not to stop the spin headed to stop at the person that we wanted to kiss, or receive a kiss from.

Each took turns getting off the floor, going to the center and spinning the bottle. We all gasped as the bottle slowly came to a stop and when we noticed it pointed to one person in particular - we all screamed with delight.

The boy leaned over and kissed the girl, and everyone clapped and giggled and squealed with laughter.

Another great Birthday Party Game that we played was not as quiet and required many chairs set out in a line in the center of the room. The name of this game is appropriately known as Musical Chairs.

This is a speedy game, unlike the previous Birthday Party Game. The more people playing the more fun it was. All that was needed were chairs, music and a room spacious enough to set out the chairs . The idea of this party game is to have the chairs placed in a straight line with the amount of chairs being one less than the amount of guests playing.

Folding chairs are best since they are all one size. Place the chairs in a line, the seat of one facing to the left, the seat of the other facing to the right. To play this Birthday Party Game, you will need one person in charge of playing the music.

Takeaways
  • Differences in the games
  • Ages of those attending the party and which game is suitable
  • The thrill and excitement a the ending of each game.
