Lindsay Lohan's Nude Pictures.. And My Connection with Lohan

Lindsay Lohan and I have a few things in common. We both grew up on Long Island. We know some of the same people. Lindsay Lohan's father once crashed his car near my neighborhood. And - Lindsay Lohan and I both have naked pictures.

If you haven't heard by now, Lindsay Lohan's nude pictures in New York Magazine have gotten an avalanche of attention.

According to Forbes.com, New York Magazine's website usually averages a million clicks a day, but that has skyrocketed to 40 million. Those clicks equal lots of cash.

Suffice it to say, Lindsay Lohan's nude pictures are a recreation of Marilyn Monroe's last photo shoot in 1962. They were taken by the same photographer who took Monroe's pictures, shortly before her death. In her pictures, Lindsay Lohan wears a Marilyn Monroe wig. Sometimes, she holds a thin veil, or strategically-placed flowers, sometimes she does not.

To tell the truth, I was a bit surprised that a magazine I subscribe to would include naked pictures. I had heard the buzz about it, and wondered if the magazine would come with a brown paper cover on it that week. (It did not.)

Despite my curiosity, I was busy, and didn't look at Lindsay Lohan's nude pictures right away. A few days after the magazine arrived, I brought it to work. I left it on the desk, walked away for a moment, and when I came back - it was being borrowed. Some of the men I work with were (very casually) taking turns leafing through the magazine. Lindsay Lohan's Marilyn Monroe pictures had apparently made them speechless.

Me: "Where's my magazine? Oh, you have it."

Male Co-worker: "Ummm"

Me: "What do you think?"

"Ummm."

One managed to say, "She has a lot of freckles."

I added, "Apparently she waxed."

And that was it. I realized I was probably a step away from being called into human resources for a talk on sexual harassment, so I put Lindsay Lohan's nude pictures away.
