The film, starring Tiffany Dupont as Queen Esther, Luke Goss as King Artaxerxes (Ahasuerus), and James Callis as Haman, and an all-star cast including Tommy 'Tiny' Lister, John Noble, Peter O'Toole, John Rhys-Davies and Omar Sharif, is scheduled for release to over 1,000 theatres on October 13th.
Dr. Robert Hodgson, Dean of the Nida Institute of Biblical Scholarship at the ABS, said, “The picture is both inspirational and entertaining. The timeless story of Esther has been translated into a language that will reach millions in a population that is typically untouched by the word of G-d. That language is film, and we believe that the generation of the 21st Century is hungry for this, and is rejecting the insulting nature of today’s programming.”
The American Bible Society, a group whose mission is to make the Bible available to every person in a language and format each can understand and afford, has whole heartedly endorsed this movie. ABS also believes the film will be accepted by all Bible based religions as ‘accurate to scripture’. ABS’s Nida Institute for Biblical Scholarship has endorsed the movie as true-to-Scripture and says that it advances the mission of ABS by making biblical stories and the Bible more accessible and appealing to people throughout the world.
