The PBS Kids website is packed with activities, videos and games for kids that are both fun and educational. When searching for age appropriate games for children on the internet, the options among games that teach lessons and hold a child's attention are slim. If you are a parent or child care provider that is looking for good, wholesome games online that children will love try PBS Kids GO! for all ages.

When my toddler, preschool, and early elementary age cousins visit, they always want to join the big kids who are playing video and computer games. But, as most parents know, many of the most popular video games are not appropriate for young children. I have found that it is very easy to keep the little guys from feeling left out when they are provided with games of their own that keep them engaged and challenged. The PBS Kids website has several games that fit the bill perfectly.

Here are a few of the best games available on PBS Kids across a wide range of ages. Each one has a lesson that contributes to a child's developmental growth, and are fun enough that they won't even see it as an educational game.

Grover's Fruit and Vegetable Stand
Ages: 2-4
Grover's Fruit and Vegetable stand involves matching and color recognition. Your toddler can practice his or her colors by sorting out a selection of fruits and vegetables from Grover's grocery stand. I also like the emphasis on healthy eating that the characters chat about as well as the cultural and other trivia aspects that are included. The interaction that players have with Grover and the Cookie Monster keep them from becoming bored with the game.

Roller Monkey
Ages: 2-4
Another great color recognition and memory game, Roller Monkey features the lovable Curious George with his collection of colorful skates. The game calls for children to recognize and memorize patterns and colors.

I will have to keep this in mind for when my nephews and neices come to visit.
