So, what is this new concept in dog food, you ask? It's called WholeMeals. Mars, Inc. has just debuted WholeMeals at PetCo stores nationwide, and is creating a healthier way for dog owners to feed their pets premium dog food.
WholeMeals and Nutrition
WholeMeals creator Mars, Inc. claims their product offers complete nutrition in a fun to eat bone shaped product that is highly digestible, causing more nutrients to be absorbed, which ultimately means less stool volume.
High quality proteins for strong muscles, Vitamins E & C for a healthy immune system and Omega-6 Fatty acids are added to ensure healthy skin and coat. WholeMeals has also added natural sources of glucosamine and chondroitin for your dog's joint health.
WholeMeals and Dental Health
The unique bone shape of WholeMeals promotes chewing and scraping along the teeth and gumline, which helps to loosen plaque and tarter.
According to a media release kit available for review at PetCo stores, preliminary testing of WholeMeals has shown several dental health benefits including a 43% reduction in plaque, 83% reduction in tarter and a 22% reduction in gingivitis among dogs who have eaten WholeMeals. However, the report doesn't say how long the dogs were on the WholeMeals diet before seeing these dental improvements.
WholeMeals Are Enjoyable for Your Pet
Since WholeMeals dog food is shaped like a bone, your dog will associate it with a treat, making mealtime more enjoyable. The bone meal offers a variety of textures for your pet's satisfaction. The outer layer of the bone is chewy, while the inner portion is meaty.
Since the dog food is not wet, or in several pieces, such as dry kibble, the food may be hand fed to your pet. This type of feeding can help with pet and owner bonding.
