I tend to have extremely dry skin, and during the winter it only gets worse. The skin on my forehead literally starts to crack, while other parts of my skin are so dry that they look patchy. After spending hundreds of dollars on products that promised to make my dry skin disappear, I've grown a little weary of trying new things. Then I heard about the Exfoliator and Mask from the Sephora FACE line of products. I recently picked up their moisturizing cream from the line, and was excited to try this one too. http://www.sephora.com for $12. The Exfoliator & Mask from Sephora is a two-in-one product; it works as both a mask and an exfoliator. That alone was enough to make me try it, and with its promise to reduce dry skin, I was equally hooked. The product comes in a white tube, with pink and black lettering on the front to match the other products for dry skin in the FACE line of cosmetics from Sephora, and it's the exact same size as their moisturizing cream, weighing in at 1.69 ounces.
The Exfoliator & Mask contains small bits of something that serve as the exfoliating part of the equation. I dabbed a little on my face, rubbed it in, and washed it off. I was pretty disappointed when I didn't see any changes to my skin, but then learned I did it wrong. You are actually supposed to rub it on your skin until those little pieces dissolve. I tried it again, and felt a little thrill when the hard bits completely dissolved. It had a nice massaging effect on my skin that I definitely enjoyed.
I also tried the Exfoliator & Mask from Sephora as a mask, and I have to say that I was a little disappointed. It doesn't work like a traditional face mask, as it doesn't dry completely and stays fairly wet. That can be a problem if you leave it on for the recommended 15 minutes. I walked through the house, and actually had someone ask me why my face was "so wet". After my 15 minutes passed, the mask came off fairly easily.
