Why join the U.S. Air force?

People join the Air Force because of its immense benefits, training, and of course, for a feeling of patriotic duty. The United States Air Force was originally a part of the Army, but later formed as a separate branch of the military in 1947. Although the United States Air Force is young it is still considered to be one of the worlds largest and most technologically advanced Air Forces in the world. Like other military branches, the United States Air Force is broken up into the sub branches Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserves. Each sub branch has its rewards, but only Active Duty enlisted members receive full time benefits and experience. The differences between the Air National Guard and Reserves are very slim. One main difference is the pay. Federal government pays those who are active duty or Reserves. The state will pay for those who are in the Air National Guard. People often join the Air National Guard or Reserves to obtain military status, but still maintain a semi casual lifestyle. Whatever career path chosen many of the benefits remains the same.

Military experience is beneficial to both, civilians and enlisted personal. A limited number of civilian jobs offer benefits such as health insurance, paid vacation, above minimum wage, and dental insurance. Civilians are not always eligible for such benefits; students who have just graduated from college must compete over these positions. Unlike the Air Force, college has its limits due to the world changing constantly; therefore, certain areas of study may not be applicable after graduation. If a college graduate does find his or her dream job, then they will have to increase their employment status by gaining more experience. To achieve higher wages experience is required. Without benefits strains occur on individual's budgets and sometimes create personal issues. Like many civilians, enlisted members of the Air Force receive many benefits such as insurance, retirement funds, vacation, education, and more just for serving the country.
