Looking for an excellent getaway? Visit Carolina Beach, North Carolina and have the time of your life! Carolina Beach, which is apart of Pleasure Island (along with neighboring Kure Beach) is a quaint beach town that offers something for everyone. Bring the whole family because everyone will have a blast and will surely be able to find something to do!If you do not feel like sitting on the clean, uncrowdedCarolina beach you can visit the North Carolina Aquarium and check out the "Exotic Aquatic" exhibits. You can also spend an entire day checking out the Fort Fisher Historical Site- the Civil War site that features an impressive reconstruction of a 32-pound seacoast gun! The kids will have fun renting anything from bikes and scooters to kayaks and jet skis; while dad spends the day deep sea fishing on the numerous party boats or charter boats available. The nice cottage shops that offer unique gifts, clothes, and furniture will be perfect for mom to check out and there are great ice cream parlors for the whole family to enjoy together!
That still doesn't sound enticing? Try spending time in the quaint town of Wilmington just ten minutes down the road from Carolina Beach. Wilmington boasts that it is the "Hollywood of the East Coast" with its major production companies and the numerous films and television shows filmed here. Some of the well known movies filmed in this area include "Weekend at Bernie's", "Domestic Disturbance", and even the "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood"! Once you see the beautiful scenery you will understand why they chose to film the popular television show, "One Tree Hill" in the Wilmington and Carolina Beach area! If you take a stroll down the scenic Cape Fear River Walk you may even catch an actual TV show taping!
