After reading my other list of the Top Twenty Odd and Funny Books some people have requested that I make a sequel to it since they found it to be quite funny. I again started searching for funny titles and have come up with the following, written by people born to write about these topics (by their names).1. A Treatise on Madness - William Battie, M.D. (1768)
This author was one of the top physicians of his time.
Did you know: his name caused the origination of the slang term "battie"?.
2. Riches and Poverty - L.G. Chiozza Money (1905)
This book, though old, is still available through amazon.com! If you are extremely bored and have money to waste, I suggest buying it and reading. Maybe you'll get a laugh or two as I often do from old books!
3. The Boy's Own Aquarium - Frank Finn (1922)
Finn was born in England and wrote several books there, he then went to India and became superintendent of a museum there! Pretty impressive!
4. How to Live a Hundred Years or More - George Fasting (1927)
This author actually only lived for 65 years... he probably should have read his own book!
5. Diseases of the Nervous System - Walter Russel Brain (1933)
Dr Walter Russell Brain, 1st Baron Brain (October 23, 1895-December 29, 1966) was a British neurologist. He was principal author of the standard work of neurology and editor and creator of the still running medical magazine "Brain"
6. Causes of Crime - A. Fink (1938)
Not much is known about this author. My speculation (just for fun) is that he could have been a notorious criminal working with the mob. He probably sold them out and changed his name to A. Fink under police protection. He, of course, would be very knowledgeable on this topic. I am 99% sure, however, that nothing that I just said is true.
7. Your Teeth - John Chipping (1967)
John Chipping was a doctor born in the U.K. He studied dentistry for 5 years and went on to write a multitude of books, most of which are about teeth. The above book is his most famous.
8. The Cypress Garden - Jane Arbor (1969)
This was a pen name used by another author who just wanted to give people a laugh. He did.
