Operation Gardener is the plan to evict Allison from the Big Brother 9 house. Joshuah came up with the name after dealing with Allison baiting him into multiple fights after she had already gotten a restraining order against him in the house for allegedly threatening her.
Everyone complains that Allison is the most manipulative person in the house and that she is always going around starting things. Her actions are not as obvious as Amanda's were, thus making certain members of the house dislike her even more than they did Amanda.
Joshuah said that the plan to evict Allison is called Operation Gardener because she goes around the house, spreading seeds.
This season, the Houseguests have started this trend called "Operations." It was all James' brainchild when he came up with Operation Condor and clued certain members of the house in to his plans. He says the game is not about long term alliances, but smaller Operations. The concept has caught on and everyone now has an Operation for evicting their target out of the house.
This video shows when Josh came up with the name of his plan. He starts off making fun of Allison with Shelia and Sharon and he has them rolling. The video is from February 27, 2008 just before nine in the evening. The people who have been on slop for the week are getting ready to be allowed real food and Big Brother is having pizza delivered. Shelia and Josh are filling Adam in on the whole restraining order thing while they are waiting for their food to arrive. It is halfway through the video where Josh comes up with Operation Gardener "Because she plants seeds through the house, so it's Operation Gardener." Adam said "Condor worked out." James walked by and Josh told him "Everything is under control and Operation Gardener is in effect." James laughed. Later that night, Adam and James told Matt about Operation Gardener and that it gets it's name from Allison running around planting seeds. Matt loved it.
