1. When you go to a bakery shop always make sure you have plenty of questions in mind to ask. Make sure you know exactly what you want so it can be perfect. Always make sure though you get your cake a few inches bigger you are always better off having more than less. It won't make a huge difference in price maybe only by a few dollars or so.

2. If you are getting a edible picture on your cake, bring that picture with you when you fist go. The picture you pick can be of any size, colored, black and white, from a magazine, or maybe even a sketch you made up. Sometimes when you go and choose a picture of a character for a birthday cake their colors and sometimes the characters look very different than what you have. If you bring your own character picture you know it will come out right to please your child. I have seen many pictures of characters in a bakery that look nothing like they do on t.v. so just make sure you keep this in mind.
