No matter if your toddler is sleeping in their own bed in your room or you are bedsharing and your toddler is sleeping in the bed with you there are things that you can do to make both you and your toddler sleep better.

Although having the door of the bedroom open is nice because the air throughout the house can move and this of course means cool air in the Summer time and warm air in the Winter time, it is a very good idea to have it closed tight when your toddler is sleeping in your room. Why? Well if your toddler decides to get up before you and quietly leaves the room to start their day they could get into something that they are not suppose to before you even know that they are gone. However if the door of the bedroom is shut then you will hear them opening it or attempting to open it.

Another good idea for co-sleeping with your toddler is to have an extra diaper in your bedroom, if you don't already keep them in your bedroom. This way if your toddler wakes up in the middle of the night a poops you will not wake them up even more by moving them to another room or by leaving them alone in the bedroom while you go and get a diaper. Usually toddlers don't wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom but for the time that they do you will be glad that you were well prepared.

It can sometimes be hard to share a blanket with your toddler, and plus you worry about them becoming uncovered in the middle of the night, and this is why it is a good idea to give your toddler their own blanket. If your toddler falls asleep before they are in your bed try and lay them down so there is plenty of room for everyone else to comfortably be in the bed. This way when you go to sleep your toddler won't likely be in the wrong area of the bed. If your little one appears to be falling asleep before they are in their bed draw the sheets and blankets.

One last tip, it is always as good idea to do anything that you need to in your room that you can't do after your toddler is sleeping before your toddler is asleep.
