American Girl Doll Craft: Easy No Sew Apron

This easy no sew apron is a fun American Girl Doll craft project for little girls of all ages. I love making homemade doll clothes. The larger size of the American Girl doll is perfect for making clothes and aprons!

To Make This American Girl Doll Apron You Will Need:

Fabric

Ribbon

Fabric Glue

Scissors

No Fray Product

To get started you want to cut off a piece of ribbon to about 18 inches long. This will be a little longer than you need, but it can be trimmed later.

Try to use a nice sturdy ribbon, like gross grain ribbon. You can use this in any color you want, but try coordinating it with your fabric. You will also want the ribbon to be at least 1 to 2 inches thick.

Now, take your fabric and cut out two pieces to inches tall and 5 inches wide. You can use two different fabrics if you wish.

Please note, if you want to use felt or any other fabric that does not fray, you do not need 2 pieces.

Lay one piece pattern side up on the table. Run a bead of fabric glue along three sides. Do this evenly and close to the edge. This should be a thin bead.

Now, take the matching piece and lay it pattern side down on top. Gently press the glued edges together and let this dry.

You need this bead of glue to be as thin as possible so it does not run or bleed wide path in the fabric. You can also use a No Sew fusible web in place of the glue if your little girl is old enough to use an iron.

Once the glue has dried turn the fabric inside out.

Fold the edge in and glue them down to finish the main body of the American Girl doll craft.

Now, take your ribbon and lay if face down on the table Place a bead of glue at the top edge and the bottom edge, tight in the middle. Do this the same width as your apron square.

Line the top edge of the apron up with the ribbon and press into the glue.

Let this dry.

Kids can decorate their American Girl Doll apron with fabric paint, fabric pens, and any other craft material you have around the house.

Once the glue dries you can tie the apron on your American girl doll and the craft is finished! Trim the ribbon as needed and apply No Frey to the edges.
