Here is a look at 2008 father of the ride wedding trends. From hair trends for the father of the bride all the way to what color tie to wear! The look is pulled together and coordinates well with the bridal party, but with a different sophisticated twist.

So many people spend time wondering what the bride will be wearing, but the father of the bride will be very visible too, so check out these great trends for the father of the bride in 2008:

2008 Father of the Bride Wedding Trends #1: The Hair

Clean cut is always in style, but in a wedding hair is a great time to make a statement. As the Father of the bride a great way to stand out is to have a modified version of the hip hairstyles today. Think Jack from Lost!

Facial hair is in as well, so go for a look where you have The modern buzz cut combined with a scruffy 5 o'clock shadow!

The father of the bride should always look great, after all he is a reflection of the bride, so treat Dad to a day at the spa and a little makeover if he is rough around the edges or in need of a trim.

2008 Father of the Bride Wedding Trends #2: The Suit

In many cases this year you will see the father of the bride wearing a suit very similar to the groom, but a much light color. So, if your groom is wearing a dark charcoal gray tux, have Dad match with a lighter gray version of a similar tux.

If you are having a more casual beach type wedding and the groom is wearing Khakis with a crisp white shirt here are some ideas for a coordinating Father of the Bride outfit. Have Dad wear a crisp blue or pastel shirt. This will stand out and not interfere with any white in the wedding ensemble.

Other pastel colors would work here as well.

2008 Father of the Bride Wedding Trends #3: Color

The looks should coordinate, but not bee too matchy matchy. For the tie, choose the same color as the wedding colors, but darker shade. For example, if your wedding color is sage and the groom is wearing a sage green tie or bow tie, then have Dad coordinate with a dark hunter green tie. This will stand out against the lighter suit, but still coordinate in a sophisticated way.

I really like this niche topic as fathers of the bride are often overlooked when it comes to wedding planning, in my opinion :) Thanks for filling a gap.
