How To Interview Well
Congratulations you have achieved step one towards getting you dream job and that is securing an interview. Now for step two. In order to secure the job you are going to need to come across well at the interview.
So just how do you go about making sure you come across well at the interview stage and ultimately be the one who is offered the job. There are several things that you can do to help at your interview.
1: Prepare for the Interview
Before you go to the interview make sure you have done your research on the company. At a high level you want to know some key facts and most importantly exactly what the company does.
2: Know the job you are applying for
Make sure you have studied the job description so you have a good understanding of what the role entails.
3: Relate questions back to previous roles and experience
When asked questions during the interview try and answer with examples of when you have done similar work in previous roles.
4: Dress appropriately
Wear clothing that is applicable to the role and the company. E.g. if you have applied for a role as a banker you are probably going to want to dress in a suit. If you have applied for a role as an assembly line worker then don't go in a suit.
5: Ask Questions
At the end of the interview there is normally time for you to ask questions. Make sure you have thought of some before hand so you actually have some to ask.
6: Speak Confidently
Be confident in your answers. Maintain eye contact with the person you are talking to. This adds weight to your answers and gives the interviewer more confidence that you know what you are talking about.
Well that's all my advice. Follow these steps and you should do well. Good luck.
