Survival as a Working Woman

How to Make Family First

Things are different than they used to be. Most moms are working, single moms have become a bit more common, and sex before marriage is all but normal. But how did it get this way? How did a society that used to have dinner ready by five, women in skirts at all times, and God as a vital
part of life become so disparaging? And more importantly, is there any hope in turning back. Are we destined to continue down this spiral of madness with youth becoming mass murders and lovers killing lovers out of rage and distrust?

Today, many women are not only working, but passionate about their jobs, keeping them dedicatedly burning the candle at both ends, often leading to shattered households, late meals, and fast food. In the midst of career chaos, I think many of us have forgotten what it meant to have real parents. The hug when you walked in the door, kiss on a scraped knee, cheering on the sidelines, and unforgettable advice may have been unappreciated at the time, but when we look back it is easy to see who and what has shaped our lives. For me, it was a mother willing to listen, striving to teach, and able to let me cry. We have definitely had our ups and downs, but her strength has shaped me, and it is without women like her that I fear our society is beginning to fail.

It doesn't have to be this way though. Right now we are in the midst of a feminine rebellion. Breaking free from generations of lock down, we are finally experiencing a world of opportunity, tasting things that have been dangled in front of us for years but forbidden for to touch due to our "place in the home." Now, with the ability to go to college we are seeing some of the greatest minds of the world emerge as doctors, engineers, scientists, and even politicians earn their places in the fields of their dreams.

Agreed. Too many women don't seem to see the value in creating a HOME. The HOME is the foundation to every aspect of society. A woman (man) who can be there for their children to teach, listen, show by example is doing a greater service to the world than anything they could have done at any corporation. Great article.
