About a month ago, I received a rather disturbing email from a dear friend of mine. Embedded in the email was an "article" claiming that Kentucky's Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, Ronald Edwards, had endorsed Barack Obama. I'm sure many of you may have received the same email, especially if you're part of the black community. Strangely enough, the article seems to be flooding the email boxes of blacks and whites all across the country. The article cites Edwards' reason for the alleged support as an effort to thwart Hillary Clinton's bid for the White House. I'm paraphrasing here, but according to Edwards, "Anyone is better than having that crazy-ass bitch in the White House." The article goes on to note that Edwards had donated $250,000 to Obama's campaign, which really made me sit up and take notice. If Obama did in fact take a contribution from the Klan, it deserved media attention and a column from The G-man.

The Internet chatter over this article began to spread like wildfire. Even noted radio talk-show hosts, both black and white, gave significant air-time to it. While everyone was busy trying to figure out what the hell was going on, The G-man went to work by directly contacting Edwards, via email, to confirm the story. I was very interested in hearing what the Imperial Wizard had to say, especially given the fact that I just obtain comments from his boss, the Klan's National Director Pastor Thomas Robb, who vehemently stated that the KKK would never support a black man for president. To date, Edwards has not responded and is not likely to. It could be a "black thing". Who the hell knows?

Sad thing is it seems many people do not know the Klan is still active. Perhaps they do not lynch people, bomb churches and stuff today. But they are darn good at legal lynchings and other stuff. Lots of bad press here about Wright and "I am appalled" or "I am outraged". Never get that about the Klan.

Oops, wandered from the KKK Obama endorsement. But in a way it is related. Obama proposes solutions to fixing inner city issues. Sad his Pastor seems to playing devils advocate in reaction to Ferraro's statement last week. He should have stuck to preaching the gospel and left politics out of the pulpit. I have been having a hard enough time trying to convince Pocono Mountain area~my term~rednecks~that Obama's church is not racist. See what the guy told you about sending all the money to Africa. BTW, did you see that CP's article about Obama's church. Over 300 comments....I can just see the headlines now~or maybe Dame Clinton will do it at the next debate. She will show the clip and demand Obama denounce his minister and his church. She already got him in trouble due to Farrakhan~and those Pocono people know all about it. Sigh.

Now I never suggested it to Paul's supporters that were pestering me to death. Instead I would say: He is stuck in the 1950s and out of touch with the reality of today. I would give the example of his wife. She probably did not need a business license when she ran a dance school in her basement. Today a homeless person needs a permit to sell street newspapers. Hard to do when one has no address. : > The gist of Paul's message may tie in what you imply Cosby was saying. Blacks are lazy, whiners who want everything handed to them on a silver platter, playing the race card (whatever that means) and playing the victim. But I remember those days and "we don't hire that kind here"~even after Affirmative Action. I know a bit how lenders discriminate against persons of color as to housing or small business loans. I know a bit of the difference between rich school districts, such as where my sister taught and poor school districts that do not pay enough to attract quality teachers.

The article came from a UK satire paper the Squibb. Shamontiel just sent me that email. When I first read the article a few months back I checked Snopes dot com. It was not there so I went to Open Secrets to try to verify those supposed donations to Obama's campaign fund, with no luck and forgot about it for a while. I was checking another KKK thing at Snopes, which is how I found out it was satire. What I was trying to verify was one of Ron Paul's campaign staff members~no longer remember the guys name~to verify if he was a KKK member. I saw a video of the guy giving an anger white supremacists speech and linked to the Klan. My next stop was Storm Front to see if he was a member. And dagnabbit, there are the photos of Ron Paul at one of his rallies with proud Storm Front guys. I had my suspicions of Paul being a racist~can pick up clues from words spoken, ya see.

The KKK? Lynching's too good for 'em! Seriously though, you did good, Gary. Those guys (and women too it seems!) would make me laugh if they weren't so sinister. I can hardly believe they're still at it in the 21st century. Keep on rattling their cage!

Good investigative (neo)-journalism. KKK-what idiots. Do they even know how much food produced in America is discarded for purposes of market prices "while there's a white man at the helm. Talk about tunnel-vision.

Well Mr. G-Man has definitely done his homework. Good job, but I didn't really believe it anyway. Also to add why would the head of the KKK not want to sound like assholes, the are "ASSHOLES". So much BS comes out when a Presidential race is on and it is so hard to believe anything that is said or written unless it come's directly from the horses mouth. Racism has just got to come to an end already, it is just getting old. Great job, love the article and waiting for more!!
