I recently took a holiday trip to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for a spring break vacation. While vacationing in Philadelphia, I had the chance to stay in several hotels in both downtown Philadelphia, the historic district of Philadelphia, and in the vicinity of Philadelphia International Airport. All of these hotels were great, but some were better than others. Here, I will list the top four hotels or motels in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Some of the criteria that I used while rating these hotels or motels in Philadelphia were:

1. The hotel's location. Is it near tourist sights, restaurants, museums, and other attractions?

2. The hotel's price. How much did I have to pay? The best vacation is the one where you get the most for your money!

3. The hotel's service. Were the rooms clean? How was the hotel's staff? What services did they offer, and what did they include in your hotel room?

Now that you know what criteria I used to determine which hotels were worth a stay at from a savvy tourist's perspective.

The Best Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Hotels - #1: The Philadelphia Holiday Inn - Historic District. This three-star hotel was the first place I stayed at while on a vacation in Philadelphia. The best part of the hotel is that it is close to all of the sights and sounds of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Holiday Inn - Historic District, located on 400 Arch Street, is mere blocks from the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, as well as the Independence Visitor Center (the first place you should go after checking into your hotel in Philly). The Holiday Inn is also about 15-20 minutes from the Philadelphia International Airpot (a $25 taxi cab ride, for those who are not renting a rental car in Philadelphia).

The hotel's service is nothing extremely outstanding, especially compared to larger chains like the Hyatt (the closest Hyatt is across the Ben Franklin Bridge at Penn's Landing). Check-in was effortless and quick. Upon receiving my hotel room keys, my friend and I headed to our room.
