You can use your favorite love poem to create a one of a kind shabby hic wedding centerpiece. This shabby chic poem wedding centerpiece can be made on almost any scale. You can also make it months ahead of time and hen add the fresh flowers on the morning of your wedding.

To Make This Shabby Chic Wedding Centerpiece Using g a Poem You Will Need:

Poem

Computer

Printer

Lighter or Matches

Tea Or Coffee

Flowers

Paint Brush

Old Coffee Can (Large)

Paint

Wood gel stain

To get started you want to clean off your old coffee can. Any brand will do. I like to use the largest can available, but any size will do.

Now, paint the can out. I personally like to use milk paint in a color that matches the wedding or color scheme. You can also use an antique white spray paint. Either looks great.

While the paint is drying you want to type your favorite poem into the computer. Print it out on a sheet of paper that is the same height, or slightly smaller, then your can. This will be the main focus so the shabby chic wedding vase. You want to print this in a romantic clocking font or even a cool retro type write font.

Now, trim the paper down to about ¼ inch of white paper around the group of words.

Take your lighter or match and gently light the edge of one side of the paper. Let his burn the edge, not the words, and then blow out. Repeat this step on all sides of the paper one at a time.

I recommend keeping water nearby in case of an emergency. I like to do this step over the kitchen sink.

Now, once any paint has dried and the paper is aged looking you want to take the paper and crumple it in your handles. Ball it up, then open and flatten it out.

Smooth the paper on the table with your hands. Paint on white glue on the back or even decoupage.

Place on the front of the metal can. Press into the can, capturing the surface of the can (many or ringed or indented around the can).

Let the glue dry.

Take your wood gel stain (I like to used a walnut color) and rub this on the surface of the paper as well as the paint on the can. This will age the whole look and give a rustic, aged, vintage look to the romantic poem wedding centerpiece!
