I remember planning a teen birthday party for me and my friends when I was in high school. I didn't really choose a theme, instead I decided on what kind of party I wanted to have, and what kind of food I wanted to serve, which was usually determined by the amount of money my parents would allow me to spend. Sometimes I decided that rather than really emphasizing the fact that it was a birthday party my friends would be attending, I decided to opt for a night of just generally hanging out. The garage had lights and a sound system going so that we could dance the night away, but there were also other things we could do, like jumping on the trampoline, or just sitting around and talking.
