It's the fourth quarter, and Hillary's back is against the wall. If she loses in Ohio or Texas, then she might as well take the ball and go home. She sees a lone receiver down field, throws up a hail mary pass, and bang! She sores a touchdown, taking both Ohio and Texas. Not quite as simple as that, right? Politics is not a game, it's a serious issue for our country. But, when I woke up this morning, I couldn't wait to turn on the news to see the final score for last night's primaries. I tried to stay up until it was over, but didn't quite make it.

What I did get to see was Senator McCain's acceptance speech for winning the Republican Nomination. Why was it that the Republican Party had a winner so early, while the Democrats are going toe to toe? Probably because they have a candidate that they are comfortable with. Senator McCain is a good man, with some good ideas, and I wish him well. He will be a formidable opponent to whoever comes out of the Democratic race for the White house.

Getting back to that race, I have reached one conclusion, which is not to jump to a conclusion. A few days ago, it seemed that Senator Obama was all set. He had a commanding delegate lead, and was gaining ground in both Ohio and Texas. So what happened? It depends on which network you want or watch, or which political expert you want to listen to. As for me, I'm doing something a little different. I'm actually listening to just the two candidates. Forget the spin, forget which campaign has the best strategy, just listen to the candidates. I know, a lot of it sounds like blah, blah, blah, but if you pay attention, the issues are becoming more clear each day. That is good for our country, and all voters.

SO, make some popcorn, grab your favorite snack, and settle in. The Super Bowl of politics will be here in November. We already know one playoff team, we'll wait to see who the other team is. No matter what happens, I still believe the winner is us. After all, can this country's economy get much worse?
