Meeting Street: The Best Place for Children of All Ages and Abilities

A Parent's Review - Located in Providence, Rhode Island

How many parents have children that love to go to school? I can honestly say that mine does... all thanks to he wonderful staff at Meeting Street.

My son first got involved with Meeting Street through their Early Intervention Program. The team of therapists worked extremely hard with my son who had global developmental delays and were very accommodating. They came to my house, they went to his daycare, they even helped me transition

him into the public school system. I knew that they had my son's best interest at heart and it was really hard to see them go when my son turned 3. I didn't want to let my experience with Meeting Street to end. I knew that they had a private preschool that incorporated education and therapy in one place. I also liked the fact that the class room was fully-inclusive where typically developing students were taught along side students that had varying degrees of disabilities. So I went to my school district and asked that he be taken out of their special needs pre-school and placed at Bright Futures Early Learning Center at Meeting Street , which services children from infancy to Pre-K, for his educational needs and continue to have the school department service his therapeutic needs.

Bright Futures was the best decision I ever made! I immediately felt comfortable with him being there as it is a very loving and caring environment where the teachers and staff understand your child and their developmental needs. My son was in an environment where he could learn at his own pace and not feel as if he were different from anyone else. That's the great thing about inclusion! You learn to love and care for people, not matter what their ability or disability is. Everyone is a family and you look out for one another. Bright Futures is truly a great place for any child to be.
