This article is more of a cry for help than anything else. Throughout the year I had had several health related problems but had no idea what was causing them. I assumed it was my birth control that the doctor had put me on and had read that women's hormones change a lot in their later twenties. My husband and I soon found out that I was the victim of a perverted gynecologist.

My husband had been complaining for a long time that he was "hitting something inside". I blew if off cause obviously I would know if I left a tampon in there. Well one night after he refused to continue without my feeling it, I took the plunge. I was astonished as I felt a round object that felt like the casing to a tampon. Knowing that this was in there I became completely obsessed with getting it out. I laid on my back for what felt like eternity trying to get a hold of it. I could tell the sides were smooth and it was shorter than a tampon casing. At this point I became very upset. I flipped over onto my hands and knees thinking about the way our bodies are shaped and that gravity would help me. Sure enough after ten minutes of this I pulled out what appeared to be a blue chapstick lid but with a hole in the top. At this point in time I regretted that I had not gone to the ER that night.

The next day I went to the ER and when they asked why I was there I responded that I had found "this" inside. The receptionist looked at me in bewilderment and then asked me to repeat what I had said. The ER doctor ran a lot of tests to make sure I was physically alright and that the cap hadn't done any damage. I was diagnosed with a chronic bacterial vaginosis infection. The ER put me on a double dose of antibiotics and told me I should follow up with a new gynecologist to ensure the infection was gone. I scheduled an appointment with my new gynecologist and one with the old gynecologist.

Thank you. I dont know how doctors can lie like that. There's no way we could do this. I don't have access to this crap and I'm sure you wouldn't rip your stitches out for the same reason. I hired a lawyer but the case doesn't seem to be going anywhere. It has def messed me up mentally. I just don't understand how doctors can do this. Once more, there have got to be other women out that have this and don't even know about it. I only know cause it started to work its way out. Thanks for your thoughts. I hope your leg is healing up great now. Good luck.

How awful! I'm sorry this happened to you. I had a doctor leave a surgical sponge inside my leg during a surgery and stapled me up with the edge of it right under the incision. When I saw the edge of it sticking out of an infected area of the incision a few weeks later the doctor denied it came from him. What?!? Like I cut open my leg, stuck in a surgical sponge, and used a surgical stapler to shut it in there? I understand how what happened to me happened - it was an accident and the doctor was trying to cover his ass. In your case, however, I can not imagine any possible way that cap could have accidentally gotten into your vagina. It's not like there are blood vial caps lying all over the place. I am so sorry to hear this happened to you.
